Software Engineer

Founding Engineer (Rust)

Salary: Up To $300,000 Total Comp.

Location: Remote

I'm partnering with a well-funded, venture-backed startup building next-generation trading infrastructure, and they're looking to hire a Protocol Engineer to join their core engineering team.

The company built its name in digital asset infrastructure and has recently expanded into quantitative crypto trading, investing heavily in a new core trading platform that's still being shaped from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the founders on ultra-low-latency systems powering quantitative crypto trading. You'll join an extremely small, high-caliber engineering team where every engineer has real influence over architecture and technical direction, and where the greenfield nature of the new trading business means significant ownership from day one.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance trading infrastructure in Rust.
• Integrate with centralized and decentralized exchange APIs.
• Build reliable, low-latency systems for real-time trading.
• Optimise performance across critical execution paths.
• Work closely with the founding team on architecture and technical direction.

Requirements

• Very high level of expertise in Rust, including production experience at scale.
• Deep exposure to building low-latency trading systems, particularly perpetual DEXs or TradFi HFT.
• Strong systems programming background with comfort in performance-critical code.
• At minimum, elementary knowledge of crypto and DeFi.
• Experience integrating with financial exchange APIs.
