Job Description

As the Creative Marketing Translator, reporting to the Creative Copy Manager, you will contribute to Laura's success by assisting with various translations and projects as assigned. This role is an opportunity to learn and be part of every element of fashion marketing across various communication channels, including editorial content, emails, digital ads, website content, product descriptions, in-store signage, and social media posts. Your expertise in EN-FR translation and adaptation will be vital to elevating the brand's in-store and online presence while driving customer engagement.

How will you support the team?

• Adapts and translates marketing content for both Laura and Melanie Lyne, following each brand’s tone of voice and verbiage.
• Provides linguistic support and acts as the French copy expert for the marketing department.
• Translates and writes product descriptions for both Laura and Melanie Lyne.
• Ensures quality control of print and digital documents through proofreading and copyediting.

Qualifications

The people who thrive with us have/are:

• University degree in Translation, Linguistics, or equivalent work experience in translation and French copywriting.
• 3-5 years of experience as an English-to-French translator
• Experience working in the retail industry, preferably in fashion retail
• Exceptional writing, translation and proofreading skills, including the ability to adapt to a range of voices and styles for varied projects and diverse audiences
• Superior knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation in French and English. (The translator will receive English copy to translate into French.)
• Solid knowledge of work management platforms, such as Asana, an asset
• Working knowledge of MS programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Understanding of fashion terminology and garment construction, an asset
• Solid organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
