Job Overview:

Lantern is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented mid-level Visual Designer (Digital & Print) to join our fast-growing creative team. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for developing visually compelling designs across both digital and print media. This mid-level role is ideal for a designer who brings a strong foundation in brand and digital design, with the added edge of motion and interactivity. You’ll play a key role in shaping how our brand shows up across channels — from compelling static visuals to animated storytelling and interactive user experiences.

You’ll collaborate closely with marketing and cross-functional teams to create impactful materials that communicate complex healthcare concepts with clarity and empathy to B2B (employers, consultants, health plans) and B2C (members) audiences. Location: Remote, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Visual & Brand Design: Bring Lantern’s brand identity to life across static and animated content, ensuring consistency and clarity. Create assets for a range of digital and print needs, including campaigns, social, email, presentations, and more.
  • Motion & Interactive Design: Contribute to interactive experiences across marketing and product channels such as web, mobile, video, and social. Help define and maintain motion principles and best practices across the brand.
  • New Engagement Innovation: Devise creative new ways to engage with our members, thinking beyond conventional formats to develop breakthrough experiences that cut through the noise in a crowded and often impersonal industry. Concept and prototype out-of-the-box design solutions that build empathy, trust, and clarity in the healthcare journey.
  • Visual Asset Creation: Design for both digital and print marketing materials, presentations, email templates, social media graphics, and other brand assets to support internal and external communications.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency across digital and print channels.
  • Prepare for Production: Manage the production process of both digital and print materials, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Iterate Based on Feedback: Make revisions to designs based on internal feedback and user testing.
  • Balance Project Workload: Handle multiple design projects while, managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, with a portfolio that showcases your motion design, interactive thinking, and ability to craft clean, strategic visuals.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effect) and Figma
  • Strong digital design experience, including social media, and email marketing. Designing for websites and mobile apps are a plus.
  • Experience with print production, including preparing files for printing and working with vendors.
  • Excellent attentional to detail and strong portfolio.

Strong Candidates Will Exhibit:

  • Excellent understanding of typography, color theory and layout principles.
  • UX/UI design principles and designing intuitive digital experiences.
  • Motion/animation and interactive experience.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, effective designs.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on producing high-quality work.
