(USA) Senior, Software Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a (usa) Senior Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a consumer-facing environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $117,000 – $234,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects by translating requirements into technical solutions
• Conduct design and code reviews, approving architectural patterns
• Drive discovery phase to create high-level designs and implement prototypes
• Research industry best practices to enhance the company’s technology
• Direct root cause analysis on critical issues and document solutions
• Support business objectives and ensure alignment with software compliance standards
• Implement large-scale complex projects with a focus on quality and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems; or equivalent experience
• 8+ years in software development, ideally in retail, using Java technologies
• 5+ years architecting scalable, high-performing applications
• 5+ years with two or more open source technologies (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
• 3+ years developing Restful APIs or micro-services
• 2+ years in Hadoop/Hive/GCP/Spark Streaming
• Experience in agile development within distributed teams
