(USA) Principal, Data Scientist | Gen AI Vision

For our client, we are seeking a (usa) Principal, Data Scientist | Gen AI Vision to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will shape high-impact initiatives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. You will partner across technical and business teams to turn complex ideas into scalable solutions and meaningful outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence both roadmap priorities and long-term organizational capability.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $143,000 – $286,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced generative and multi-modal models for diverse applications
• Evaluate options between open source and cloud APIs for Gen AI
• Curate large-scale datasets from inception to utilization
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve dependencies and define interfaces
• Build scalable systems adhering to operational best practices
• Communicate insights and model results to business teams through visualizations
• Engage in academic pursuits, including patents and publications

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience with deep learning generative/multi-modal models
• Proficient in multimodal generative models (text, image, audio, video)
• Experience with vision language models (VLMs) for various image-related tasks
• Background in synthetic data generation requiring multimodal approaches
• Strong skills in Python and relevant data science libraries (e.g., Numpy, Pandas)
• Advanced degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, or related disciplines
• Publications in renowned ML/AI/NLP conferences are advantageous
