For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Native Mobile to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will lead native mobile engineering efforts focused on architecture, delivery, and quality across a large-scale application environment. You will partner closely with adjacent engineering teams to guide migration strategy, improve developer productivity, and ensure mobile releases meet high standards. The position also calls for thoughtful execution around automation, code translation, and the synchronization of native and cross-platform codebases during a broader transition.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $218,025 – $256,500 annually
Responsibilities
- Own architecture and delivery of native app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin, ensuring strict quality standards.
- Lead the implementation of automated systems for code translation workflows, managing migration projects.
- Enhance developer experience for the native codebase by improving build speeds and local workflows.
- Define synchronization strategy between native and React Native codebases during the transition.
- Mentor and support mobile engineers across the organization, promoting best practices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of iOS or Android mobile software engineering experience, proficient in Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android.
- Experience shipping high-quality mobile applications at scale, with ownership of architecture decisions and release quality.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization techniques and profiling across device tiers.
- Proven ability to align org strategy with team-level execution, ensuring migration timelines and quality standards are met.
- Experience with AI-assisted code generation and strong judgment on automation versus human review.
- Track record of improving developer experience through effective build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency and product quality.
