For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer Community Builders to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $217,000 – $303,900 annually
Responsibilities
- Define and accelerate the backend architecture for community growth
- Instill a growth engineering mindset by promoting experimentation and fast iteration
- Build partnerships with other engineering teams to support community growth initiatives
- Establish robust measurement frameworks for A/B testing and data-driven design decisions
- Guide cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders in product and design teams
- Advocate for engineering excellence and maintain high standards across systems
- Lead design reviews and establish overarching engineering practices for the team
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in backend architecture and engineering projects
- Strong strategic thinking, able to connect technical and business frameworks
- Experienced mentor, fostering growth and culture within engineering teams
- Highly data-informed with a logical, metrics-focused approach to architecture design
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to fast-paced growth environments
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts
- Proven background in machine learning products, particularly in ranking and personalization
