Staff Software Engineer, Batch Processing Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer Batch Processing Platform to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $177,185 – $364,795 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize batch processing infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs
• Lead and drive technical projects to completion
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices and architecture
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data systems

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in large scalable big data infrastructure
• Extensive expertise in big data query technologies like Spark SQL or Presto/Trino
• Strong background in designing and maintaining scalable data systems
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python programming languages
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to innovation
• Outstanding communication skills for cross-team collaboration
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
