For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer Backend (lake Analytics Platform) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a regulated financial services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $204,000 – $264,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the long-term technical roadmap for the company’s Lakehouse Platform
- Architect and implement capabilities for secure and user-friendly analytical data management
- Design and maintain governance and secure access controls for the data platform
- Enhance analytics engineering through improved data modeling and quality practices
- Establish best practices for lakehouse operations at scale
- Optimize analytical compute and storage performance and cost efficiency

Qualifications
- 8+ years in software engineering or data infrastructure, with 2+ years in technical leadership roles
- Hands-on leadership experience in building data infrastructure teams
- Proficiency with Snowflake or similar analytical data warehouses, especially in access control and query optimization
- Strong working knowledge of Apache Iceberg, Spark, and cloud-native data lake architectures
- Experience with dbt or equivalent frameworks, focusing on data modeling and CI/CD practices
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages with a focus on production-quality systems
- Familiarity with Terraform or equivalent for managing data infrastructure
