For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer Backend - Finhub (ledger) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $218,025 – $256,500 annually

Responsibilities

Architect and build backend systems focused on performance and reliability for transaction processing
Drive strategic direction for complex cross-team projects involving engineering, product, and finance
Establish architectural standards and best practices for the engineering team
Mentor and guide senior engineers in technical decision-making
Collaborate with leadership to shape the team's technical roadmap and address scaling challenges
Integrate AI in engineering practices to enhance system performance and efficiency

Qualifications

8+ years in large-scale distributed systems, with expertise in backend programming (Go, Python, Java)
Experience designing high-availability, high-performance systems, particularly in ledgering or trading
Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers
Hands-on experience with Go, Kubernetes, and Postgres
Proficient in applying generative AI responsibly to improve workflows
