Sr Principal Software Engineer- Virtual Private Cloud

For our client, we are seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer- Virtual Private Cloud to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. You’ll build and maintain systems that power mission-critical Finance & Insurance workflows. You’ll collaborate with product and peers to design clean, scalable solutions. This role values craftsmanship, impact, and ownership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Advise on strategic development across multiple technology products
• Design and architect core components of JPMC-VPC networking platform
• Create innovative code solutions and enhance production capabilities
• Write production-quality code for networking infrastructure
• Translate complex technical issues for leadership decision-making
• Collaborate with vendor partners to align roadmaps and integration efforts
• Represent JPMC in open-source communities and forums
• Drive implementation of advanced technical methods for product development
• Influence across business and technology teams to manage relationships
• Champion the firm s culture of diversity and inclusion

Qualifications

• 12+ years in systems engineering, networking, or distributed systems
• Practical experience in system design, application development, and operational stability
• Proficiency in programming languages like Go, Python, C/C++, or Rust
• Success in influencing cross-functional teams and delivering scalable value
• Hands-on experience with software-defined networking technologies
• Expert knowledge of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP and routing
• Experience with modern development practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure as code
• Extensive cloud native experience
• Expertise in a technical field like Computer Science or Engineering
