Software Engineer - Platform, Mission Systems

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer - Platform Mission Systems to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $127,000 – $191,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance automation and services for satellite operations
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure services to support internal and customer needs
• Evaluate and select suitable software technologies
• Design and implement critical infrastructure for satellite operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field
• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience building cloud-based services with AWS or GCP
• Proficient in maintaining infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Kubernetes, or Terraform
• Strong Python programming skills
• Familiarity with relational database technologies such as Postgres or MySQL
• Solid understanding of automated testing, code review, and continuous integration workflows
