For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer Mission Systems to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $127,000 – $180,600 annually

Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance automation and services for satellite operations
Specify and implement new HTTP APIs and improve existing ones
Evaluate and choose appropriate software technologies
Design and deploy critical infrastructure
Collaborate with teams across the company to meet satellite mission needs

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
4+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in Python programming
Experience in API design
Experience with automated testing and code review
Experience with relational database technologies (e.g., Postgres, MySQL)
Proficient Linux skills
