Software Engineer (L5) - Experimentation Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer (l5) - Experimentation Platform to join the team of a leader in the Hospitality & Recreation space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $388,000 – $619,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance experimentation and feature flag services
• Design high-scale, low-latency services for experiment allocation
• Ensure reliability and performance by leading incident response and improvement initiatives
• Instrument services with observability metrics and continuously tune for resilience
• Collaborate with teams to manage data accuracy and usability for experimentation
• Define clear data and API contracts for integration surfaces
• Improve developer experiences for managing experiments and feature flags

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend and distributed systems engineering
• Proficient in Java or another JVM language
• Experience running production services with a focus on reliability and performance
• Strong background in algorithms and systems design applied to real-world systems
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
