Software Engineer in Test (QA Lead) (Remote in Canada)

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer In Test (qa Lead) (remote In Canada) to join the team of a leader in the Media space. You’ll build and maintain systems that power mission-critical Media workflows. You’ll collaborate with product and peers to design clean, scalable solutions. This role values craftsmanship, impact, and ownership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $210,000 – $210,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor QA engineers, fostering a strong team culture
• Set and meet quality metrics, focusing on automation and process improvements
• Define testing and automation standards for consistency across projects
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for various applications
• Build test frameworks that enhance efficiency and developer productivity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies
• Utilize observability tools to monitor application stability and inform test improvements
• Incorporate AI technologies to optimize QA workflows and enhance efficiency

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python, Typescript, or JavaScript
• Experience with test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Jest, Postman)
• Familiarity with AI tools for enhancing testing and development workflows
• Experienced in leading QA initiatives and mentoring teams
• Understanding of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions)
• Knowledge of QA methodologies and automation best practices
• Skilled in using observability and monitoring tools (Sentry, Coralogix, Datadog, New Relic)
