For our client, we are seeking a Senior / Staff Software Engineer Onboard Software (sensors) to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space. You’ll build and maintain systems that power mission-critical Transportation workflows. You’ll collaborate with product and peers to design clean, scalable solutions. This role values craftsmanship, impact, and ownership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $155,000 – $249,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the company's sensors platform as the team scales
  • Resolve integration issues across various sensor types
  • Deploy and troubleshoot software on live vehicles
  • Integrate new sensors into existing and future platforms
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to innovate sensor solutions
  • Work with operations to analyze system behavior and enhance reliability

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with sensor systems like cameras, LiDAR, RADAR, GPS, and IMU
  • Strong collaborative skills across diverse teams
  • Expertise in C/C++ or Rust programming in constrained environments
  • Proven leadership in solving complex systems problems independently
  • Experience in debugging Linux systems at a low level
  • Understanding of timing in coordinated system operations
  • Electronics knowledge, including reading schematics and using basic test equipment
