This role will focus on building and improving the backend systems that power testing operations, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and correctness. You will own complex technical initiatives from design through production support, partnering closely with engineering peers to deliver scalable solutions. The position also involves simplifying internal systems and strengthening observability so teams can operate more effectively.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

Own complex projects from concept to implementation and operation
Design and enhance backend systems, APIs, and data models for test execution
Improve runtime reliability, correctness, performance, and observability
Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and build robust solutions
Simplify and enhance existing systems and interfaces for engineering teams
Collaborate on cross-team systems problems and solutions
Provide feedback in design and code reviews and help guide other engineers

Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in backend system design and operations
Proven track record of independently delivering complex technical projects
Strong understanding of APIs and data modeling fundamentals
Proficient in debugging complex systems for reliability and performance
Ability to communicate technical decisions and collaborate effectively across teams
Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, MongoDB, and observability tools
Open to leveraging AI tools to enhance work efficiency
