Senior Software Engineer, Search & Discovery

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Search & Discovery to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $170,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end search, discovery, and recommendation systems
• Build and improve backend services and APIs for precision and performance
• Transform unstructured data into structured, searchable formats
• Ship user-facing features, collaborating closely with product and design teams
• Enhance architecture, code quality, and observability as the platform scales
• Explore AI and LLM approaches in discovery and implement promising methods

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals
• Proven ability to ship high-quality products and features at scale
• Experience with search, discovery, or recommendation systems
• Ability to transform ambiguous business problems into scalable engineering solutions
• Self-starter mindset with a desire for full domain ownership
