Senior Software Engineer I - Financial Systems

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - Financial Systems to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Technical Services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $157,600 – $236,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain integration layers among financial systems for accuracy and compliance
• Drive quality improvements and resolve incidents in financial reporting systems
• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to ensure reliability of financial data
• Document incidents in financial systems and manage compliance with SOX requirements
• Participate in systems design discussions and feature rollouts

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of software engineering experience, ideally in financial systems
• Strong understanding of financial compliance principles (ASC 606, SOX)
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, Aptitude, SOVOS, or Avalara
• Proven ability to drive projects autonomously and design sound integrations
• Experience mentoring engineers and working cross-functionally
