Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on advancing core platform capabilities that support business-critical data and decisioning workflows. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable backend services that improve reliability, performance, and product execution. The position calls for someone who can lead complex initiatives, shape technical direction, and help strengthen engineering excellence across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $166,900 – $230,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects that span multiple teams and quarters
• Advance both existing projects and new initiatives with an end-user focus
• Identify improvement opportunities that extend beyond initial tasks
• Leverage team-specific projects to elevate the technical capability of the organization
• Contribute to building a collaborative and enjoyable engineering culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience with backend applications using Kotlin, Java, or similar OOP languages
• Experience with distributed systems, including service-to-service APIs and event-driven architectures
• Proven track record in building scalable backend services for business-critical data
• Familiarity with decision engines that integrate with machine learning models
