Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Lake Analytics Platform)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer Backend (lake Analytics Platform) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $173,000 – $233,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and operate core platform capabilities for data application deployment
• Develop and maintain secure integrations with internal systems
• Strengthen data access governance across analytical infrastructure
• Automate recurring support tasks to enable self-service for users
• Improve observability through telemetry and incident response infrastructure
• Support platform operations during on-call incidents and maintenance tasks
• Contribute to the roadmap for next-generation platform capabilities

Qualifications

• 5-7 years' experience with cloud analytical data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
• Comfortable operating with elevated privileges and understanding governance implications
• Proficiency in building and operating containerized applications (Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
• Experience designing internal platforms or self-service developer tooling
• Strong backend engineering skills, particularly in Python and SQL
• Strong operational instincts, including incident management and root cause analysis
• Familiarity with semantic layer design and AI-integrated workflows
