Senior Software Engineer, 1

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable distributed systems and manage ML pipelines for AI/ML applications
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for feature generation and model training
• Implement model serving solutions with KServe and build APIs using FastAPI
• Build observability and monitoring for models and pipelines, tracking performance and data quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver machine learning-driven features
• Investigate production issues and improve reliability of systems and services
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and operational processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience building scalable backend systems and services
• 5+ years of experience developing software with strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and relevance tuning
• Experience with event-driven systems using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, along with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of version control systems including Git and platforms like Bitbucket
