For our client, we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer - Communications (usa Only - 100% Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

Revamp the company’s email and calendar synchronization system for improved performance
Enhance voice agent capabilities as part of the live call experience
Develop solutions for managing inbound conversations and seamless call routing
Integrate advanced scheduling features directly into the company’s platform
Design mechanisms for human interaction with AI-generated tasks and outputs
Increase connection and answer rates using innovative telephony strategies
Advance streaming infrastructure using tools like Kafka and Redis

Qualifications

5-7 years of engineering experience with a focus on software development
Proficient in Python with working knowledge of Go, Rust, or TypeScript
Extensive experience with email and calendar systems, particularly IMAP and synchronization protocols
Strong understanding of real-time distributed systems, including WebRTC and WebSockets
Experience building AI features for workflows, especially in real-time environments
Deep familiarity with telephony systems and protocols; Twilio knowledge is advantageous
Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity in coding and project execution
