For our client, we are seeking a Senior AI / ML Engineer (LLMs) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on building and optimizing AI capabilities that support document understanding, summarization, and decision-making workflows. You will lead technical efforts from concept through production, partnering closely with data labelers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. The work will combine modern Python engineering, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and statistical modeling to improve model quality and business outcomes.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $235,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML projects from ideation to ongoing optimization.
- Make high-level architectural decisions balancing system scalability and business impact.
- Design and deploy AI features for medical document synthesis and summarization.
- Develop hybrid machine learning solutions to enhance accuracy and scalability.
- Write efficient, scalable code while optimizing existing systems in production.
- Collaborate with data labelers and subject matter experts to improve AI model outputs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements and iterate on feedback.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of experience writing performant Python code following modern best practices.
- Minimum 1 year of experience building and deploying products powered by large language models (LLMs) in fast-paced environments.
- Proven experience leading technical projects from concept through production deployment.
- Experience making architectural decisions for AI/ML systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with hybrid approaches that combine LLMs, RAG, and statistical models.
- Strong skills in evaluating and interpreting LLM outputs to align with business outcomes.
- Expertise in prompt engineering for domain-specific applications.
