Product Lead, Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Product Lead Platform to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define the company’s API contract philosophy, including versioning strategies and deprecation policies
• Write precise platform specifications for engineering implementation
• Own and prioritize the platform roadmap balancing foundational and customer-facing features
• Conduct technical discovery with sophisticated customers to identify platform gaps
• Collaborate with engineering on API design and developer experience standards
• Translate customer pain points into platform requirements with solutions teams
• Drive the developer experience roadmap in collaboration with technical and document teams
• Represent platform strategy in customer and partnership discussions

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience, especially in developer-facing platforms
• Deep expertise in API design including REST and event-driven architectures
• Experience managing platform roadmaps focused on authentication and extensibility
• Strong grasp of how developer experience influences lock-in for infrastructure companies
• Ability to analyze system tradeoffs between latency, complexity, and generality
• Proven track record of operating at a principal-level IC with cross-functional influence
• Exceptional written communication skills for creating detailed technical documentation
