For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Robot Applications & Voice AI to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a manufacturing environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $165,550 – $264,450 annually

Responsibilities

Implement high-level application software and robotic behavior state machines
Translate human speech and gestures into actionable robotic tasks
Integrate multi-modal inputs for contextual awareness
Develop robust voice applications managing STT and TTS interfaces
Build orchestration workflows to enhance robotic capabilities
Orchestrate navigation, manipulation, and perception services
Contribute to production readiness through CI/CD practices

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience in Python and/or C++
Proficient in BehaviorTree.CPP, state machines, and task planning architectures
Hands-on experience with LLMs, VLMs, and agent frameworks
Strong background in designing scalable application-layer software
Experience optimizing applications for resource-constrained edge devices
Familiarity with cloud AI services and containerized deployments
Expertise in automated testing and CI/CD practices
