Principal Software Engineer, Core Sharing & Collaboration

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Core Sharing & Collaboration to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will drive meaningful impact across key initiatives and partner cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to execute against strategic priorities and scale performance. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution in a high-growth environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $284,800 – $385,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and drive technical outcomes that deliver significant impact at scale across teams
• Define long-term technical strategy and engage with senior leaders as the technical owner
• Tackle ambiguous technical and product challenges, influencing both what and how is built
• Remain hands-on in developing complex foundational systems with the highest leverage potential
• Influence and coordinate roadmaps across organizations, resolving bottlenecks
• Architect foundational systems that support reliable products for hundreds of millions of users
• Model high engineering standards and execution rigor across a distributed team
• Lead AI adoption to enhance productivity and develop AI-based features

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 15+ years in designing, building, and evolving large scale software systems
• Proven experience operating as a Principal Engineer influencing technical direction
• Strong background in building consumer-facing products with focus on user experience
• Extensive technical expertise across various domains including frontend, mobile, and distributed systems
• Experience with modern ML and LLM APIs in production environments
• Strong communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders
