For our client, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer Kubernetes to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $140,000 – $175,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems for Kubernetes integration
- Develop and maintain internal tools and automation frameworks
- Write clean, well-documented code that sets standards for the team
- Create scalable backend architectures and system documentation
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers on architectural projects
- Guide junior engineers through technical challenges and code reviews
- Support critical issues and develop systems to minimize operational burden
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a backend or platform software engineer
- Previous Kubernetes administration or advanced usage experience
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python; eagerness to learn others
- Experience in building internal APIs and automation tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Understanding of observability principles and monitoring
- Agile experience and strong remote collaboration skills
