For our client, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer Back End (distributed Data & Computing Tools) (cloud Operations Resilience Engineering) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead operational priorities focused on execution quality, efficiency, safety, and measurable performance outcomes. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $197,300 – $225,100 annually

Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse technology projects focused on regulatory solutions
  • Mentor engineering team members and share tech trends
  • Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions
  • Utilize various programming languages and cloud services
  • Occasionally evaluate or write code as needed
  • Experiment with new tech and engage in tech communities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • 7+ years of experience in Scala, Python, or Go preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS or GCP preferred
  • 4+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and open source frameworks
