Lead Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Hospitality & Recreation space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage a pod of engineers for the Voice AI product
• Lead by example as an individual contributor with high-quality code
• Own architecture and evolution of telephony and AI components
• Drive improvements in metrics related to call handling
• Collaborate with Product Managers for roadmap and product decisions
• Mentor engineers and manage team workload effectively
• Run pod processes and escalate issues as needed
• Participate in hiring for the Voice AI team

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience in engineering teams
• Strong backend application development skills
• Hands-on experience with real-time or streaming systems
• Proven track record of delivering reliable, quality products at scale
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle ambiguity and take ownership in projects
• Bonus: Experience with conversational AI, telephony, ASR/TTS providers, or evaluations for AI systems
