For our client, we are seeking a Lead Data Scientist - Safety Alignment to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $142,300 – $195,700 annually

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement safety architectures for Agentic AI systems
  • Lead alignment techniques such as inverse reinforcement learning and human-in-the-loop evaluation
  • Develop continuous monitoring strategies for agent behavior
  • Collaborate with product, legal, and governance teams for responsible AI deployment
  • Contribute to research on alignment and multi-agent systems
  • Identify and mitigate potential AI failure modes
  • Set safety milestones for autonomous capabilities

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with 4+ years in research/ML engineering or applied research
  • 2+ years leading AI/ML system development
  • Deep expertise in AI alignment or reinforcement learning
  • Demonstrated leadership in research-to-production initiatives
  • Strong publication record in AI ethics or safety
