Lead Data Scientist

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $168,200 – $252,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning solutions for financial decision-making
• Collaborate with Finance leaders to convert financial inquiries into data science challenges
• Design and build scalable data science infrastructures for finance teams
• Select suitable modeling approaches for various financial problems and run experiments to validate them
• Produce actionable business recommendations from complex model outputs
• Oversee strategic projects to enhance the company’s financial planning processes
• Work with engineering and product teams to ensure effective deployment of models in production

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a data scientist with a strong focus on predictive business models
• 5+ years in time series forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization
• MS/Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with a deep understanding of data science tools such as PyTorch and scikit-learn
• Demonstrated expertise in applying Generative AI to business challenges, including developing agentic workflows
