For our client, we are seeking a Data Scientist - Music Mission to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will own the analytical function supporting a machine learning squad focused on discovery and recommendations within a large-scale media environment. You will partner closely with ML engineers and stakeholders to build rigorous evaluation frameworks, improve model quality, and translate data into clear product decisions. The position combines experimentation, advanced analysis, and dashboarding to help guide strategy and measure the health of key machine learning systems.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $116,994 – $167,135 annually

Responsibilities

  • Own the analytical function for the discovery-focused ML squad
  • Partner with ML engineers to develop evaluation frameworks
  • Design and execute rigorous experiments to evaluate model quality
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to assess model performance
  • Build, maintain, and evolve dashboards tracking model health
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align analytical priorities with squad goals
  • Contribute to the broader product insights community

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data science
  • Degree in data science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience measuring customer outcomes and defining KPIs
  • Proficient in designing and implementing A/B tests
  • Experience evaluating machine learning model performance
  • Strong fundamentals in Python, SQL, BigQuery, dbt, and data storytelling
  • Background in advertising measurement, recommendation systems, or causal inference at scale
