Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join one of our clients, a fintech startup at the MVP stage. You’ll be part of a small, mission-driven team building a modular financial platform — starting with a subscription-only credit builder and expanding into plug-and-play tools like AI-powered tax assistants, micro-insurance, and wallet-ready cards.

In this role, you’ll be working across both front-end and back-end systems to deliver secure, responsive, and scalable features. You’ll collaborate closely with the product lead to bring MVPs to market quickly while maintaining high standards of security, privacy, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using React + TypeScript (or Vue/Angular).
• Integrate front-end with credit score APIs, Open Banking data, and payment systems.
• Optimise for mobile and ensure smooth UI/UX feedback loops.
• Write clean, tested code (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and follow best practices.

Back-End Development

• Architect and develop APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go for credit, banking, and user accounts.
• Integrate securely with third-party services such as Equifax, Open Banking, and Stripe.
• Optimise infrastructure for secure, low-cost deployment.
• Implement robust data privacy, authentication, and encryption protocols.

Must-Haves

• Minimum 3 years of professional full stack development experience.
• Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one back-end language (Node.js, Python, or Go).
• Experience with REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and cloud services (AWS, Vercel, Heroku).
• Familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker and CI/CD workflows.
• Solid understanding of authentication, encryption, and compliance-readiness.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous fintech experience (e.g., CRA APIs, tax engines, payment rails).
• Experience building finance tools such as credit, savings, tax, or insurance applications.
• Eye for user experience and micro-interactions.
• DevOps or security-related certification.
