To help achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for great Senior Software Engineer talent to join our team and help shape the future of our platform. This role goes beyond coding — we're looking for someone who brings technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for developing people and products.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality, scalable features and improvements on our Ruby on Rails platform.
• Collaborate across teams to align technical goals with product vision and business objectives.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers, offering guidance on best practices and career growth.
• Solve complex problems and design systems with a focus on performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
• Drive strategic decision-making, balancing speed and quality while keeping customer impact top of mind.
• Champion innovation by evaluating and adopting new technologies and improving engineering processes.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains, sharing progress, blockers, and outcomes.
• Foster a team culture of collaboration, ownership, and knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of industry experience developing product features centered around user needs.
• Deep experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects from discovery through delivery.
• Strong understanding of scalable system architecture, database design, and performance tuning.
• A proactive mindset around risk mitigation and long-term planning.
• Clear, confident communication and the ability to tailor your message to different audiences.
• A track record of mentoring and developing engineers, both technically and professionally.
• Passion for delivering high-impact results and driving a team to do the same.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and making well-grounded, timely decisions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Heroku, AWS).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React).
• Contributions to open-source projects or tech communities.

Our stack is JS/React, Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL, all hosted on Heroku. If you don’t use any of these but feel you are sufficiently expert in equivalent technologies that is ok, we would still love to hear from you. We hire people for their experience and passion, not their ability to memorize a framework.
