The Role
What we’re building & why
Our client is an AI company building a fast, cloud-native platform that automates tasks and workflows so teams can move loans forward with less manual effort and clearer decisions. We care about speed, accuracy, and calm workflows that help real people do great work.
If you enjoy turning complicated, rule heavy tasks into simple, practical software and want to design how humans and AI collaborate this is a great fit.
The role:
You'll take ownership in end to end product research and design for core workflows in a complex, regulated product and help mature our design system and philosophy as we scale.
What you’ll do:
- Design from sketch to ship. Create flows and wireframes, polish UI in Figma, and collaborate closely through launch and iteration.
- Make hard things easy. Turn dense rules and edge cases into clear steps, helpful defaults, and clear the way for users to accomplish their goals.
- Own problems, not just screens. Partner with product and engineering to frame the job to be done and choose the simplest solution that works.
- Shape human-in-the-loop AI. Design when the system should automate, when it should ask, and how it explains itself.
- Keep the system coherent. Evolve components, patterns, and guidelines so teams build quickly and consistently.
- Write clear words. Labels and microcopy that build trust and reduce cognitive load. Clearly document requirements and product expectations for engineering.
- Learn with users. Run lightweight research and usability tests. Fold insights back into the work.
- Collaborate with Clients. Engage closely with our clients and subject matter experts to understand business needs and understand their expectations for user experience.
- Measure outcomes. Define success, review data, and improve what you ship.
- Raise the bar. Give and receive thoughtful feedback. Advocate for quality where it matters.
What great looks like here:
- You sweat details (states, keyboard flows, loading, errors, accessibility) and still move quickly.
- Strong product taste. Your work feels obvious in hindsight.
- Comfortable navigating complexity and explaining it simply.
- Clear communicator who invites healthy debate.
What We're Looking For:
- 5 - 10 years of experience years designing end- to- end for complex SaaS or enterprise tools
- Design for core product, not marketing or brand design.
- Experience at a SaaS company. Work should have tackled messy, workflow heavy SaaS (not just marketing pages).
- Collaborated deeply with Engineering and Product teams
- Experience as a design lead or founding designer at startup. Working on a lean small team is great
- Experience with document or data driven workflows.
- Fintech, lending, or regulated domain experience.
- Portfolio shows clean UX and high- quality UI craft.
- Fluency in Figma (components, variants, auto- layout).
- Experience planning and running lean research.
- Ability to write some code (CSS, Vibe coding) is a strong plus
- Built or maintained a multi- team design system.
- Worked on products with automation, assistants, or AI.
- Been in environments where they are comfortable making decisions on their own
- Comfortable working in fast, ambiguous environments.
- Can see/understand the thinking and trade offs from portfolio
- Clear communicator who invites healthy debate
