About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us design and build the backend infrastructure and APIs that will power our new mobile app and support the experience of thousands of older adults across Mexico.
You will play a critical role in enabling a secure, reliable, and scalable system to serve our members and operational teams.
More details below but we are looking for someone that can do things across the stack but is more inclined to the backend side.
You’re a good fit if you:

- Owns end-to-end delivery of complex features or critical workflows
- Leads debugging of difficult production issues with calm and focus
- Coaches and unblocks others; mentors other engineers
- Champions engineering excellence (reliability, testing, maintainability)
- Identify with the T shaped model, which are generalists with a strong suit in one specific area. We are all engineers at our core no matter our specialization
Had experience with:
- Fiveish years of web development with the likes of PHP & Laravel, Ruby & Rails, Elixir & Phoenix, etc
- SQL and relational databases like MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL
- Fast-paced startup environments
- Automated unit/integration/behaviour/etc tests
- Multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with designers, product management, data
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks like VueJS, React, Tailwind, etc. If not, there’s no worry as long as you are open to learning!
- Knowledge of our stack (it’s not a requirement, just a bonus): PHP & Laravel, MariaDB, VueJS & Inertia & Formkit, Tailwind.}
Key Outcomes:
- Able to drive projects from ideation to completion touching all stacks if needed, having an impact on the business and on our clients
- Scopes complex projects into phases and deliverables managing ambiguity, risks and tradeoffs effectively
- Defines and executes technical approaches balancing simplicity, reliability, and maintainability
- Influences technical direction within the team: how we structure code, how we test, how we operate
- Identify patterns and concepts that can be reused, promoting platforms within our codebase
