At Koinly (a crypto tax and asset tracking SaaS), our system ingests, reconciles, and transforms billions of crypto transactions into reliable financial records for investors and accountants worldwide. We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer who wants to stay hands-on, go deep on performance, and lead the kind of projects that make whole systems faster and simpler.

🧭 What you’ll work on

Architect and ship high-throughput Ruby services that process billions of rows.
Lead ingestion/reconciliation/data integrity work where correctness is crucial.
Own design → code → prod
Refactor and de-tangle core systems to improve readability, observability, and resilience.
Mentor senior devs through reviews, design docs, and pragmatic technical leadership.

✅ You might be a fit if you

Have 7–8+ years in backend engineering with strong Ruby/Rails experience at scale.
Can point to concrete wins in performance, query tuning, or large refactors.
Think in data models, pipelines, and execution plans and not just controllers and endpoints.
Are comfortable in async, remote-first teams and communicate clearly in writing.
Enjoy leading complex projects more than managing people.

✨ Nice-to-haves

Postgres tuning in production (indexes, query plans, partitioning, etc.).
Experience with large ingestion / reconciliation / ETL-style pipelines.
Background in fintech, tax, accounting, open banking, or crypto / blockchain.
