ABOUT KILL PARKINSON

Parkinson's affects around 12 million people worldwide, and numbers are expected to grow significantly in the coming decades. Many of us, our families or our children will be affected at some point.

Kill Parkinson is a non-profit, patient-led organisation based in Berlin. Our goal is to help people with Parkinson's in their everyday lives as quickly as possible, through prevention and better, optimised therapy. We collect the knowledge and lived experience of millions of people affected and make it available to the best researchers worldwide.

We are an international team of around 25 volunteers, driven by patients and powered by data. We are looking for a practical, experienced visual and brand designer who makes everything we show the world look clear, warm and unmistakably KiPa style.

ABOUT THE JOB

You will work closely with our UX/UI designer as the visual counterpart on the team. While UX/UI focuses on structure, flows and product, you take care of everything that needs strong visual design and refinement: our website, editorial content and social media.

We already have a design system in Figma and brand guidelines in place. Your job is to bring them to life across all channels, polish what exists and give our communications team on-brand templates, so they can create great content on their own.

YOUR TASKS INCLUDE

• Take on visual design work across the website, campaigns and communication materials.
• Refine existing pages, visuals and assets so they look polished, consistent and professional.
• Design website editorials for kill-parkinson.org, such as blog headers, feature images, editorial layouts and infographics.
• Build a library of Canva templates for social media (posts, stories, carousels) in line with the KiPa brand identity, ready for the team to use on their own.
• Apply our design system and brand guidelines consistently, and help extend them where new needs arise.
• Prepare clean, well-organised assets for handoff to our web and communications teams.
• Use Claude in your daily work to speed up ideation, variations and alignment between visuals and copy.

YOU SHOULD HAVE

• A current design portfolio that shows your visual, brand and editorial work. A link to it in your CV is mandatory.
• Strong command of Figma and Canva, including building reusable templates and brand kits.
• Hands-on, daily experience working with Claude or comparable AI tools.
• Experience working with design systems and brand guidelines, both applying and maintaining them.
• A high artistic and design sensibility, with a sharp eye for typography, colour, composition and imagery.
• Sensitivity to the needs of patients and older users, including readability, contrast and accessibility.
• Good communication skills and comfort with sharing, discussing and refining ideas in a remote team.

NICE TO HAVE

• Simple motion design for social media (e.g. animated posts or short clips in Canva or Figma).
• Experience with WordPress or designing content for websites built on it.
• Experience in healthcare, non-profit or mission-driven communications.
