Ideal Candidate:
- Nuclear Industry Experience Required
- Degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural/Chemical/Industrial.
- Experience in design engineering, scope, process, workflow, impacts on project to create scope changes
- 5+ years of pertinent work experience with at least 2+ years project management responsibilities. Prior work in consulting engineering environment strongly preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for effective planning and business management of assigned projects, with moderate to medium risk profile. Leads larger or more complex project teams consisting of technical/professional staff.
Project Engineering / Management
- Confirms contract scope of service, schedule, and cost budget is consistent with proposal.
- Prepares project files in a timely manner consistent with contract, QAP requirements and Work Instructions
- Initiates project through project internal Kick-off/PRJB meeting, communicating scope, schedule, budget, and risks to the project team.
- Ensures that project is set up in Learner Web System (LWS) and team personnel are trained to the project documents before working on the project.
- Updates project tracking tool on a weekly basis to report percent complete by task and any project issues.
- Identifies, addresses and documents any project risks, including the actions for mitigating and monitoring risk.
- Coordinates with engineering leadership to assemble a project team and ensures the individuals are competent for the assigned task (skills align with task) and individual responsibilities align with qualifications.
- Coordinates the activities of project team. Leads project team meetings and provides project status, CPI & SPIs as applicable.
- Monitors adherence to scope, schedule and budget, and initiates corrective action as soon as a deviation is suspected.
- Interfaces with the Responsible Engineer on an agreed-to time frame commensurate with project risk, for appropriate technical oversight, proactively raising issues and concerns, this allowing for early warning, and mitigating actions to be implemented.
- Works with Engineering to identify and document scope changes/project impacts when required and communicates to the client.
- Initiates project closure and ensures the project is closed in a timely manner.
Invoicing / Billing Reviews the accuracy of project personnel and contractor timesheets.
- Reviews and approves project related personnel expense reports.
- Reviews and approves project invoices prior to transmitting to the client. Responsible for the overall accuracy and completeness of the invoice. Initiates firm price project invoices in accordance with contractual agreement.
- Supports the timely collection of payment to support project and company health.
- Project Documentation
- Ensures Project Plan, and other affected quality documents are revised in a timely manner to reflect and communicate scope revisions.
- Ensures project training records are accurate and complete.
- Ensures project records, i.e. calcs, drawings, other deliverables, etc. are submitted to the client in compliance with applicable QAP requirements.
- Ensures that project QA records are submitted to Document Control as soon as the document becomes a quality record.
- Performs timely project closure.
Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural/Chemical/Industrial.
- 5+ years of pertinent work experience with at least 2+ years project management responsibilities. Prior work in consulting engineering environment strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
