Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Portfolio Strategy & Product Lifecycle Manager to lead cross-functional efforts in optimizing our product portfolio. This role facilitates high-level conversations across global teams to determine which products to retain, optimize, or phase out based on financial performance and strategic alignment.
You will work closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other stakeholders to drive decisions that impact the P&L, inventory, and long-term product strategy. The ideal candidate is comfortable presenting to executive leadership, influencing without authority, and navigating a highly matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy Development
- Analyze product performance using financial data (revenue, margin, inventory impact).
- Facilitate strategic discussions to determine product retention, optimization, or phase-out.
- Present recommendations to VPs and GMs based on data-driven insights.
Product Phase-Out Execution
- Coordinate and action cross-functional teams to execute phase-out plans.
- Own certain operational processes to remove products from systems and inventory.
- Ensure clear communication and accountability across global teams.
Cross-Functional Facilitation
- Lead meetings with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
- Influence decisions without direct authority in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Support global alignment, including coordination with teams in Europe and Asia.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of professional experience in roles such as product marketing, finance, or project management.
- Proven ability to present to executive audiences (VPs, GMs).
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial data and P&L impact.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, modeling) and Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with Power BI dashboards and working with data extracted from ERP systems. (nice to have)
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, JD Edwards, and SAP (nice to have).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or similar project management certification (nice to have, not required).
- Background in product marketing, especially in healthcare or technical industries.
- Experience working in global teams and navigating time zone differences.
