Kairon Health is the practice performance operating system that drives whole practice health. We go beyond patient lists to identify and fix the workflows that drive VBC performance, helping practices do better without doing more. Our AI-driven platform integrates data analytics, workflow optimization, and performance insights to help ACOs and healthcare organization identify opportunities for revenue growth, reduce out-of-network leakage, and align practice operation with VBC success.
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (US time zones) to join our small team of A+ people and help build and grow Kairon.
Why Join
As a small team, we work in a highly collaborative environment where you'll have the opportunity to contribute across the stack and shape our engineering culture as we grow.
- Impact: You’ll be hands-on in building the product from the inside out — backend, frontend, testing, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Excellence: You’ll be trusted to own projects end-to-end and help influence architectural decisions.
- Ownership: Influence the direction of product and engineering — we care about your opinions.
What You'll Do
As a full-stack engineer at Kairon, you’ll be a generalist with a bias toward backend and data-heavy systems. You’ll contribute to a modern web stack, help implement new features from concept to deployment, and work closely with the team to iterate quickly and responsibly.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end development of our platform, covering:
- Backend (Python, Django, Django REST Framework)
- Frontend (JavaScript, Vue 3, D3, Tailwind CSS)
- Data engineering (Python, PostgreSQL, Snowflake)
- Building and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet.
- Write automated API and UI tests, smoke tests, and improve our test coverage across the stack
- Work with modern AI frameworks including LLMs
- Ensuring adherence to standard best-practices for data security and encryption
- Support and evolve our AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Terraform)
- Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural discussions
Who We're Looking For (Qualifications)
- 5+ years experience as an engineer building full-stack web applications as part of a cross-functional team
- Expert experience in backend engineering skills using Python, Django, and DRF
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Solid experience with frontend development in JavaScript (preferably Vue.js)
- Strong understanding of relational databases; comfort with SQL
- Familiarity with Snowflake or other analytical databases a plus
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and Terraform
- Experience with modern security engineering, HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance
- Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work semi-autonomously within the context of a highly-collaborative startup environment
Preferred
- Experience with LLM integrations, machine-learning algorithms, data vectorization, RAG
- Prior experience working with 3rd party APIs like Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet
- Experience building apps with health-tech systems, like Electronic Health Records (EHRs/Practice Management Systems).
What We Offer (Compensation & Benefits)
We'll treat you well. If there are any other benefits that are important to you, we'd like to hear.
- Contract-to-hire opportunity with a path to full-time. Competitive compensation for the initial 3-month contract (pro-rated from a target annual base of $135k–$160k), with potential for full-time conversion based on mutual fit.
- Paid time off — paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave.
- Fully-distributed culture — live and work where you'd like (US time zones).
- We’ll meet you where you are depending on your interests. Role has the potential to grow into a leadership position, or continue to work as an individual contributor.
- Opportunity to build products across a range of customer segments types, including VBC Enablers, Hospitals and Health Systems, MSOs, and Large Practices
- Opportunity to build and work with modern AI technologies (including LLMs, Vectorization, and RAG)
