Role Summary
Strategic business leader of the resort’s Marketing team. Manages the marketing budget to enable development of property specific campaigns, promotions and collateral to drive revenue and meet property objectives. As a member of the Executive Committee, develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer profile and property employees, and provides a return on investment to the owner.
Accountabilities
• Responsible for leading the resort marketing and public relations activities to achieve resort goals including revenue for all areas
• Accountable for achieving goals in guest satisfaction, employee engagement and financial management
• Executes the marketing strategy, develops and executes marketing and PR plans, including social media, on-line media, e-commerce, print media, radio/TV, partnerships, etc., as appropriate
• Provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in strategy
• Participates actively in client experiences, trade shows and industry events
• Builds and maintains excellent working relationships with all resort departments, plus market sales, global sales, industry partners and community partners
• Suggests innovative marketing and social media ideas and proactively develops deployment strategies to continue to grow market share
• Supports the General Manager by maintaining crisis communications
• Maintains strict compliance to brand standards by all resort team members, in all visual, written and verbal communications
• Welcomes and acknowledges each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests’ names when possible
• Complies with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adheres to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Exemplary written and verbal communications skills
• Exemplary presentation skills
• The ability to motivate and energize teams
• Post-secondary education preferred
• Minimum five years’ experience in the hotel/resort business
• Minimum two years’ experience as a senior sales team leader
• Minimum two years’ experience as a marketing professional
(sales and marketing experience may be concurrent)
Working Conditions
• Must have access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle for business use.
• Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel as required by means including automobile, rail, air, etc., to conduct business-related activities.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Sit for an extended period of time.
