The Business Developer is a results-driven individual in charge of driving growth for our B2B SaaS company. This role involves identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and generating leads. The ideal candidate will craft sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with customer needs. A strong understanding of the financial inclusion industry and proven B2B sales success are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and outreach. Participate in events in Kenya and the region.
- Negotiation & Closing Deals: Lead contract negotiations and close deals with mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align offerings and ensure smooth client onboarding.
- Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and stakeholder activities to refine strategies and spot new opportunities.
Requirements
Must have:
- Excellent analytical & organizational skills, performs autonomously in multithread mode
- Proven B2B sales experience in the software industry, ideally for financial institutions
- Proactive, positive mindset, sense of humor and highly culturally sensitive
- Great communication skills
- Business development roles, ideally within the technology or fintech sectors (3 to 5 years)
- Work in developing countries, especially in Africa
- Experience with the right digital tools for this position Nice to have:
- Other languages are welcome, particularly French: our team and clients are all across the world
- Do you like traveling? You could represent us at industry events and visit clients
- Experience in startups, fintechs or with microfinance banks
- Resident in Kenya or in East Africa
