Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Performance Marketing to lead the strategic direction, execution, and performance measurement of our multi-channel marketing efforts. This role is ideal for a data-driven, strategic thinker who excels at translating business goals into actionable marketing plans, coordinating agency and freelancer resources, and continuously improving outcomes through structured testing and analytics.
You’ll partner with internal teams, creative collaborators, and external vendors to orchestrate marketing initiatives across digital, ecomm website, and field/event channels—focusing on outcomes like CAC, conversion rates, and campaign ROI. The ideal candidate is comfortable developing hypotheses, interpreting data, leading cross-functional projects, and owning a roadmap of A/B testing and channel optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and own the execution of a cross-channel marketing testing roadmap to drive user acquisition, conversion, and engagement across digital and in-person (field/event) touchpoints.
- Define and manage a performance marketing framework, collaborating with creative, content, and web teams to ensure testable, results-oriented campaigns.
- Coordinate with external agencies and freelancers to execute paid media, SEO, and web development efforts—ensuring alignment with strategic goals and performance KPIs.
- Oversee conversion rate optimization (CRO) efforts on the website and landing pages, identifying areas for improvement and guiding experiments.
- Build and maintain robust analytics and measurement systems, leveraging tools like Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and CRM platforms to track key metrics (CAC, ROI).
- Direct and optimize paid media and digital advertising campaigns, including PPC, display, search, and retargeting efforts, to maximize ROI.
- Manage the digital marketing budget, allocating resources strategically across digital channels to drive the best outcomes.
- Oversee the testing strategy by working with the content team to create marketing (educational and advertising) content across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent messaging, clean tests, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on the results of performance marketing activities, providing actionable insights and recommendations for future strategies and campaigns.
- Analyze customer acquisition costs and provide strategic recommendations on spend allocation to optimize marketing budgets and improve overall campaign effectiveness.
- Foster a data-first marketing culture with a strong emphasis on experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in performance marketing, with expertise in digital growth marketing, integrated marketing, e-commerce, and website operations.
- Proven ability to develop and manage a structured marketing testing roadmap, including A/B and multivariate testing across content, creative, and channels.
- Experienced in measuring ROI and CAC in e-commerce, optimizing spend, content creation, and leveraging insights to drive e-commerce conversions and growth.
- Comfortable with web and e-commerce environments, including tools like Webflow, Stripe, or comparable CMS/payment platforms.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with analytical tools & CRM software to manage campaigns and analyze performance data. (e.g., Google Analytics, Tag manager, SEMrush, Salesforce, Convert.com, full funnel visualization).
- Proven track record in managing multi-channel marketing campaigns with a focus on maximizing ROI and reducing CAC.
- Excellent communicator—able to translate insights into clear strategies and confidently present recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Strategic mindset paired with strong execution oversight and project management skills (Asana or equivalent).
