Product Designer - Alexander Mann Solutions (Contingent)

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

This role is to work for a fintech function in Banking as a Service (BaaS).

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Product Designer for a 6-month contract on a remote-first basis (main offices in London, very rare office attendance).

Purpose of the Role:

Our client are looking for a Product Designer to join their core design team and help shape the next generation of their customer-facing app. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact live features - including new savings functionality and international payments - and bring simplicity to complex financial user journeys.

You'll join a fast-moving, cross-functional squad where design is central to product development. Expect autonomy, collaborative problem solving, and plenty of meaty challenges.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Design end-to-end product experiences across mobile and web, with a focus on iOS and Android apps.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers in a truly embedded squad.
• Lead and participate in workshops, bringing clarity to complex problem spaces.
• Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that balance user needs with business goals.
• Contribute directly to the evolution of the core product - working on savings, payments, and other impactful features.
• Help bring customer insight into design, iterating based on feedback and data.

What we require from you:

• Experienced in product design, ideally within a cross-functional team setup.
• Strong mobile design experience, especially native apps - with an eye for creating elegant, intuitive journeys.
• Background solving complex UX problems, not just marketing sites or pure UI work.
• Experience in customer-facing product environments (B2C or similar).
• Confident facilitating workshops and design discussions.
• Portfolio that showcases your ability to reduce complexity and design for real user needs.
• Based in the UK - remote-first, but contractually available to travel to London on a needs-be basis (rarely required).
