Description

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to contribute to exciting website enhancement projects as part of a contract role. Based in Old Lyme, Connecticut, this position offers flexibility with remote or hybrid work options. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in independent settings and has a strong background in WordPress development.

Responsibilities:

Lead the development and optimization of WordPress-based websites, ensuring functionality and user experience are top-notch.

Implement website upgrades and consolidate multiple web properties into a unified system.

Customize and enhance front-end elements using JavaScript and additional tools.

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects efficiently without needing extensive supervision.

Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client needs.

Ensure website performance meets modern standards, including speed and responsiveness.

Utilize Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud to support design and development tasks.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress functionalities.

Requirements

Proven experience in WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.

Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with modern front-end development practices.

Experience with tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Ability to work independently, managing tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Strong understanding of website optimization techniques for performance and user experience.

Prior involvement in website upgrade and consolidation projects is highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in web development.
