The UX/UI Designer II position assists in the creation of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design for client's digital products, with a strong emphasis on mobile applications supporting modern mortgage and fintech experiences. This role follows the guidance of a design lead and focuses on execution, usability, visual consistency, and interaction quality across borrower- and customer-facing digital touchpoints.

The UX/UI Designer II supports the translation of UX direction and product requirements into high-quality UI designs, components, and prototypes. This role is ideal for a designer passionate about crafting intuitive, accessible, and trustworthy experiences in data-rich, regulated environments, while staying current with best practices, emerging tools, and mobile design standards.

You will collaborate closely with designers, product owners, engineering, marketing, and business stakeholders to deliver consistent, usable, and scalable digital experiences.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist in establishing user experience and user interface designs under the guidance of a design lead for mobile apps, websites, and other digital platforms.

Support the design of mobile-first user journeys, screens, and UI components for mortgage and financial services products.

Translate UX flows, requirements, and product specifications into high-fidelity UI designs and prototypes.

Partner with the design team to create and maintain reusable design assets, components, and patterns.

Work within brand and accessibility guidelines to create layouts that reinforce clarity, trust, and consistency across digital touchpoints.

Support data-driven improvements by understanding performance metrics, usability studies, and feedback to inform UI refinements.

Collaborate closely with designers, developers, product owners, copywriters, and stakeholders to solve complex visual and interaction design problems.

Work with developers to ensure designs align with mobile and component-based implementations and assist with design handoff.

Apply strong attention to accessibility, responsiveness, and usability standards, especially for mobile platforms.

Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency within the design and product organization.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals, mobile interaction patterns, and component-based design.

Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, and familiarity with tools such as InVision, Jira, Confluence, and user testing platforms.

Solid understanding of digital ecosystems including mobile applications and responsive web experiences.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product.

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and organization.

Ability to take direction, iterate on feedback, and work both collaboratively and autonomously.

Interest in or exposure to AI-assisted design tools and modern prototyping techniques is a plus.

A working understanding of component-based development concepts (e.g., React or React Native) to support collaboration (no production coding required).

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, preferred.

Three (3) to Six (6) years of professional related experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Portfolio showcasing relevant UX/UI and mobile design work.
