Senior Software Engineer | Early Team | High-Growth API Startup (Remote, USA Preferred: SF or NYC)

A venture-backed team redefining personalization in ecommerce is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join as one of its earliest team members. The company has already closed over $7M in booked revenue and is backed by top institutional investors. Now, they're looking for someone to help build scalable systems and take their platform to the next level.

The Role

As Senior Software Engineer (employee #10), you'll play a critical role in designing and building the backend infrastructure that powers personalized checkout experiences. You'll work closely with a seasoned team, shipping high-reliability code that directly impacts revenue and growth. The ideal candidate is a backend-leaning generalist who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.

You Might Be a Fit If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering
• Strong skills with modern general-purpose programming languages (e.g. Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C++)
• Experience building distributed systems that handle millions of events
• A deep understanding of API design patterns and how to scale them effectively
• A bias for action-you know how to unblock yourself and focus on impact
• A product mindset-constantly asking, "What moves the needle?"
