Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions using cutting-edge frameworks and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python programming and AI/ML libraries, a proven track record of scaling proof-of-concepts to production, and extensive experience with Azure cloud services. This role focuses on building data-driven applications, leveraging RAG architectures for NLP, and ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards while optimizing cloud resource usage.

Key Responsibilities

• AI/ML Application Development:
• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions using Python and popular libraries such as Langchain, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and spaCy.
• Build and implement RAG pipelines, handling tasks from data extraction to indexing for effective natural language processing applications.
• Cloud & Data Infrastructure:
• Develop AI solutions using Azure services including Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI APIs, and Azure SQL Database.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor AI applications on Azure, ensuring efficient cloud cost management and robust performance.
• Data Management & Analytics:
• Manipulate and transform large datasets using SQL Server and Python-based tools; apply techniques such as data normalization, feature engineering, and data augmentation.
• Work with unstructured data and ensure secure handling of sensitive information (PII/PHI) using data masking techniques compliant with HIPAA and FHIR standards.
• Search & Retrieval Optimization:
• Utilize advanced search algorithms, indexing techniques, and retrieval models; work with search platforms like Elasticsearch or Azure AI Search to enhance information retrieval.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into broader business systems and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Minimum of 10 years experience as a data scientist with deep hands-on experience in Python.
• Proven track record of scaling proof-of-concepts to production in AI/ML applications.
• Extensive experience with the Azure Cloud ecosystem, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring of AI solutions.
• Expertise in using tools such as Document Intelligence (formerly Azure Form Recognizer), Snowflake, Azure AI Search, and Azure OpenAI APIs.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with RAG architecture for natural language processing tasks.
• Proficient in data manipulation using SQL Server and Python; experience with data normalization, feature engineering, and data augmentation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning techniques for NLP tasks (text extraction, classification, sentiment analysis, NER, summarization).
• Expertise in working with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, FHIR) and implementing data masking for PII/PHI.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with cloud cost management strategies to optimize resource usage.
• Advanced knowledge of additional scripting languages or frameworks beyond Python as required.
